Napa Valley is home to world-famous winery estates and sprawling vineyards that make for a gorgeous drive up and down the valley. On our Napa Valley Wine Trolley group tours, we love to point out that many of the plantings you’ll see were first cultivated well over a hundred years ago. Built to reflect the colors and architecture of the Flora Springs Estate Winery, The Room offers tasting experiences for your Napa Valley group wine tour in a variety of luxurious salons and Cave Rooms, and even on a rooftop patio lounge! As a natural extension of the Estate, The Room represents the joyful generosity and love for the land of the label’s own namesake—Flora Komes, the founders’ grandmother.
Flora Springs is known for hand-crafted wines that reflect the bold flavors of Napa Valley vineyards. The winery’s sustainably-farmed estate vineyards allow the winemaking team to tailor their methods to each vintage and vineyard block, so that the fruit’s natural characters shine. A broad portfolio features a number of varietals, from Late-Harvest Sauvignon Blanc to the Flora’s Legacy Cabernet, which scored 95 points with Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate.
Built in the northern end of Napa Valley, The Room offers the best of two worlds—stunning vineyard views and close proximity to the world-famous dining and shopping of St. Helena, a short five-minute drive away. Drop in for a tasting in the casually elegant tasting salon, and choose from a variety of menus including the Signature Tasting, the Library Tasting for some carefully aged vintages, or the Single Vineyards Tasting to experience the nuanced flavor profiles unique to each of the Flora Springs featured vineyard blocks.
But Flora Springs has more to offer Napa Valley group wine tours than fine wines and a great tasting experience—the winery is known locally for the way it celebrates Halloween. Flora Komes met her husband at a Halloween party, and first discovered the winery property as a neglected “ghost winery.” The winery honors her each year with limited Ghost Winery bottlings in collaboration with local artists.
